One of the two people arrested in connection with the murder of a Huntsville woman appeared in court in Madison County last week. X’Zavier Scott, 20, of Jackson was represented at the hearing by attorney Bruce Gardner. Scott and his 16- year-old girlfriend, Domanek Jackson were arrested in Clarke County on Sept. 25 and charged with capital murder for the Sept. 22 stabbing death of Huntsville mother Tiffany Kelley.

The couple allegedly met Kelley at a Dollar General in the Green Cove area of Huntsville where the victim agreed to give them a ride. Kelley was stabbed multiple times. Her body was disposed of on the roadside. The alleged murderers then fled to Clarke County driving the victim’s vehicle. Scott denies stabbing Kelley and states that Jackson was responsible for the crime. Jackson’s initial story to police indicated that she stabbed Kelley at least five times. However, she later changed her story to implicate Scott as the killer.

“It’s interesting in what the co-defendant stated originally is exactly how my client described it to me; that he had nothing to do with actually inflicting the wounds to Ms. Kelley and that it was done by his girlfriend,” Gardner stated.

Scott will now face a Madison County grand jury. Jackson is being tried as an adult. Both are currently in the Madison County Jail.
