Winfred Jerome McClain, a native and resident of the Manila community, was born on Nov. 10, 1960 to the parentage of Claudia Fox McClain and Wesley Mc- Clain Sr. Winfred was known by family and friends as Lynn. He departed this earthly life on March 10, 2022 while at Jackson Medical Center in Jackson. Lynn devoted his life to Christ at an early age and united with St. Matthews No. 1 Baptist Church in Manila. Lynn loved fishing, cooking, hunting and telling jokes.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted mother, Claudia Fox Mc- Clain of Manila; children, Tykeyah (Calvinar) Thomas, Ayemi McClain, Ajhawe McClain, Damian McClain, Qurantes Jackson and Jerome Leggett; grandchild, Za’Nyra Thomas; brother, Wesley McClain Jr. of Anniston; five sisters, Margie (Walter) Fox of Walker Springs, Carolyn (Melvin) Kimbrough of Grove Hill, Ella Jackson of Manila, Mary (Calvin) Davis of Jackson, and Pamela (Michael) Hunt of Gainestown; devoted companion, Tracy Davis; with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Friday, March 18, from 2 until 6 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2 p.m., at St. Matthews No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery, 5 Waverly Rd., Manila. The Rev. Willie Causey is pastor and the Rev. Henry Frowner will be the eulogist.
Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
