Evangelist Wilder Dean Martin, affectionately known as “ Geraldine” and “Aunt Dean,” was a native of Jackson and a resident of Mobile. Geraldine was born April 11, 1943 to the late Mr. Charlie McBride and Elder Mildred K. Malone. She departed this life suddenly on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Saved and filled with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at an early age, she sang and ministered at many churches in many cities. She prayed for many people. Geraldine was a faithful member of the Blood Covenant Evangelical Ministry in Mobile. She loved her family and friends and was a good spirited, God-loving person, who enjoyed every moment with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Gloria J. Ezell, Hathaway Lee, Charlie Mae McBride, Vonia Hannon and Shirley McBride; brothers, Presley E. Robinson, Willie J. Robinson, Dosia McBride and Ben McBride; brothers in-law, Sims Ezell and Houston House; nephews, Joseph W. Bettis, Jarius Ezell, James Keith Ezell and Ron Robinson; and nieces, Brittney Robinson and Sylvia Ford.

Left to cherish her legacy and loving memories is her devoted son, Eddie Mitchell Sr.; a devoted daughter/niece, Makeitha Bettis (Trenton Lomax); four grandchildren, Eddie Mitchell Jr., Brenda Mitchell, Ledale Nettles and Tommie Nettles; eight sisters, Prophetess Charlene Curry (Bishop W.C. Curry), Marzell House, Sharon Tiggs, Mattie (Cleon) Collins, Mary McBride, Lorene (Bobby) Reed, Katrina (Dr. Stevenson) Tullis and Jackie Johnson; with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and her church family and Overseer Doris Bettis and Pastor Richard Tyrone Bettis.

Public viewing will be Friday, March 24, from 3:30 until 5 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. Service will be Saturday, March 25, 1 p.m., at Jackson AOH Church of God, 328 Davis Ave., Jackson. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson.

Final life celebration was entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
