The Millry Wildcats traveled down to McIntosh on March 4 for a match-up with their cross-county rivals, claiming a 16-1 victory.


In the first inning, Millry went on top with an early lead thanks to the heavy bats of the Wildcats. Daniel Sullivan drew a walk early, and Chris Clements followed him with a walk of his own to put a runner in scoring position. Chad Johnson popped a fly ball for the first out of the inning, Then Kyle Cannon stepped in and blasted a three-run homer to left field to make the score 3-0 at inning’s end.


McIntosh came to the plate and tried to regain some lost ground. After a strikeout, No..22 smashed a triple, and he later scored on a passed ball to give McIntosh their first run of the game. After a force-out and a strike, the score was 3-1 heading into the second inning.

In the top of the second, the Cats got a lead off double on a line drive to left field, and a pair of walks to load the bases. Clements then cleared the bases with a grand slam, increasing the Millry lead to 7-1 with the Cats still alive in the inning.



Joseph Hill followed with a double, Maurice Mitchell looped a double to score Hill. Kyle Cannon was hit by a pitch, and Bill Jones doubled to drive in Mitchell. Cannon and Jones came around on a single by Josh Williams to make the score 11-1.


Casey Clements smashed a double, and after a strikeout, the Wildcats closed out the inning‚s scoring with a Daniel Sullivan hit to score Clements. Chris Clements found himself on base again after an error and advanced after two straight batters were hit by pitches.

With Cannon at the plate, a McIntosh error led to even more scoring, making it 14-1 in favor of the Wildcats. Jones drove in another run and Cannon scored on an overthrow to make it 16-1 heading into the bottom of the second inning.


McIntosh could not stage much of a rally in the remaining innings, as the next few innings saw little in the way of offensive production.



The game was eventually called with the Wildcats leading by the final score of 16-1.
