The United Way of Southwest Alabama and the Clarke County Committee will be hosting a Family Fun Night on Thursday, Sept. 5th at the H. W. Pearce Memorial Park Assembly House from 5 – 7 p.m. There will be carnival games, refreshments including hot dogs, chips, popcorn, snow cones, Coca-Cola products and water, the annual awards presentation, and the Clarke County Campaign Kick-off.

The 2019 Heart of Gold Community Volunteer Awards recognize the UWSWA volunteers so critical to the success of both United Way of Southwest Alabama and its 47 partner agencies. The work of these volunteers is vital to the success of the programs and services that address our communities’ needs.
2019 Heart of Gold Recipients include Ms. Felicia Coston, American Red Cross; Ms. Jessie M. Pugh, Drug Education Council, Inc.; and Mrs. Joy Stevens, Alpha Women’s Resource Center.
The 2019 Heart of Platinum will be presented to Mr. Joe L. Bedwell for years of dedicated service to UWSWA and Clarke County. UWSWA Partner Agency of the Year is the Alpha Women’s Resource Center.
2018 Campaign Awards celebrate community partner’s for being excellent leaders and UWSWA advocates. International Paper, Pine Hill mill has been chosen for their Outstanding Campaign. Outstanding Campaign Coordinator is Ms. Pamela Taylor with Thomasville Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
