Ms. Theresa Dianne Chapman, age 61, a native of the Winn community of Grove Hill and a resident of Grove Hill, she was born July 20, 1960 to the parentage of Mrs. Lillian Chapman and the late Mr. Floyd Chapman Jr. She departed this life Feb. 4, 2022 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital in Grove Hill.
Dianne, as she was affectionately called, was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill. She was a 1978 graduate of Coffeeville High School, furthering her education at Livingston University and Hobson State College where she earned an Associate in Science Degree in Accounting. Dianne thoroughly enjoyed reading the Bible and meditating on the “Daily Word” publications. She enjoyed baking delicious cakes and banana pudding. She also worked as a Clarke County Poll Inspector. She gave of herself untiringly and was a compassionate caretaker when her health allowed her to do so.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mr. Pearlie Chapman and Mrs. Ollie Mae Martin Chapman; paternal grandparents, Mr. Floyd “Tharp” Chapman Sr. and Mrs. Liza Bumpers Chapman; and other relatives.
Dianne will be cherished forever in the hearts of her dearly beloved and devoted mother, Mrs. Lillian Chapman of Grove Hill; two sisters, Sandra Chapman Pugh, dearly beloved and devoted, of Grove Hill and Dr. Janice Chapman (James) Franklin of Daphne; two nephews, Michael Pugh Jr. of Grove Hill and Brandon Pugh of Smyrna, Tenn.; two aunts, Shirley Chapman of Coffeeville and Irma Martin of Gautier, Miss.; with a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends including Edna Jean Pugh, Deborah Stewart, and the Coffeeville High School Class of 1978.
Viewing will be Saturday, Feb. 12, from 11 until the 11:30 a.m. graveside service at Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Zion Road, Grove Hill, AL. The Rev. William Jackson will be the eulogist.
Facial covering and social distancing are mandatory.
