Ruby Taite Jones

Ruby Lee Taite Jones, a native of Chance and a resident of Whatley, answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 3, 1949 to Dorothy Kidd Taite and Sammie Taite. Ruby was a member of Chance Baptist Church and a 1968 graduate of Wilson Hall High. She was retired from the Clarke County Board of Education. Before declining health, Ruby enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family, gardening, shopping and spending quality time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her first born child, David Jones; parents; sister, Ethel McCoy; and two brothers.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her devoted husband, Samuel Jones Jr.; two devoted daughters, Nicole and Paula Jones; one grandchild, Alisea Chapman; one stepdaughter, Felicia Wright; three stepsons, Daryl Jones, Cecil (Melissa) Jones and Samuel Jones III; two sisters, Elouise Armstead and Barbara Taite; two brothers, her twin Robert (Jewel) Taite and Freddie Taite; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30, 11 a.m., Indian Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 5 Indian Ridge Rd., Whatley, AL.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson.
