Ronald Meredith “Ronny” Elmore, 64, died April 30, 2023. Ronny was born Sept. 24, 1958 to Paul Andrew Elmore and Merrilon Pugh May in Jackson. He graduated from Jackson High School with the Class of 1977 and will be fondly remembered as the class cut up.
A hardworking man, Ronny held many jobs through the years including owning and operating his own logging company, Elmore Logging, as well as a gravel hauling company, Elmore Farms. In later years he continued to keep busy feeding his cows, working in his shop and spending time in the woods. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his precious grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Rip.
Ronny is preceded in death by his mother; brother, Ricky Elmore; and grandparents, John Merrida and Virginia Shipp Pugh.
He is survived by his children, Lauren Moore and Daniel Elmore; son-in-law and dear friend, Chris Moore; grandchildren, Aubrey Moore (Will) Vick, Chloe Moore, Gavin Moore, Ryder Eckstein and Sadie Elmore; siblings, Randall (Laurie) Elmore, Sandra (Mac) Henley, Lee May, Lynne (Mel) Stacey, Russell Elmore and Paula (Ed) Harris; and father, Paul Andrew (Laura) Elmore.
Services were held Friday, May 5, at River Hill Baptist Church. Visitation was from 2 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 3 p.m., with Bro. John Lee Stacey officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Hill Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers were Heath Dailey, Charlie Odom, Barney Lowery, Danny Bradley, Sam Montgomery, Darrell Gates and Hank Newburn.
