The Fifteenth Annual “Honor Thy Children” Dinner and Auction to benefit the Regional Child Advocacy Center and “Almost Home” was held Saturday, April 23 at the Jackson Community House. Heidi Gaillard, left, of Jackson was this year’s recipient of the Eddie Slayton Memorial Award, presented annually to individuals who aid children. Gaillard was the first Family/Victim Advocate for the Regional Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and remained in this position for 14 years until her retirement in 2020. Patricia Owen Hall, a retired Choctaw County educator, was honored as the 2021 award winner for her work to benefit children. She would have been awarded during last year’s event but it was not held due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Caldwell Adams, chairman of the center’s board of directors, presented the awards to the honorees.
