Michael Everette McHaney

 

 

Michael “Mike” Everette McHaney, 57, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019. Mike was a resident of Whatley and attended Horeb Baptist Church. He was an outgoing, never met a stranger type of man. Mike loved to hunt and fish and was an Auburn Tiger Fan. He was an over the road, state to state semi-truck driver for more than 20 years. Mike was a family man, he loved all his children and grandchildren and would spend every minute he could with them. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa “Lisa” McHaney; sons, Michael Everette (Kristy) McHaney Jr. and William Todd (Beth) McHaney; daughters, Stephanie Hollifield, Elizabeth Brooke (Michael) Anderson, Ashley (Richard) Pugh and Kelli Garrett; brothers, Tommy (Nancy) Baugh Jr. and William Mark (Leigh) McHaney; sisters, Jackie Elaine Hardee, Martha Ann (Jimmy) Powell and Lois Carol Powell; with six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Sammie Anderson McHaney and William “Jack” McHaney.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 10, at Horeb Baptist Church of Whatley, with Bro. Warren Shoemake officiating and St. Stephens Funeral Home directing. Interment followed at Salem Baptist Church located at Old Salem Baptist Church Road, Dickinson, AL.

Pallbearers were Darren Powell, Tim Powell, Shannon Finney, Scott Watford, Earl Mills and Tommy Powell. Honorary pallbearers included Cecil Fuller, Floyd “Soup Bone” Jackson, William McConnell and Kent Wiggins.
