Al-anon meetings

Al-anon of South Alabama meets at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Hospital Dr. in Jackson on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. This is open to anyone who has a family member or close friend dealing with addiction. It is a confidential meeting to discuss the difficulties of loved ones struggling with addiction.

Social assistance

The Salvation Army Social Service office is open on Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. When in need of assistance with food and a variety of other needs, the office attempts to assist where they can. For additional information call 246-5693.

VFW meets monthly

The VFW on Club Wiley Road in Jackson meets the third Saturday of each month at 11 a.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church fellowship hall located at 200 Hospital Drive. Regular meetings will be Wednesdays and Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Catholic Social Services open & available for needy

Catholic Social Services is open and available for those in need. Located at 1206 College Ave., we are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
