Lewis Cleve Jackson Sr.

Lewis Cleve Jackson Sr., 82, a native of Barlow Bend and resident of Gainestown, was known as ” Juddy” or “Peck” to family and friends. Lewis went to his heavenly home on Jan. 31, 2023 at his residence, surrounded by family. He was born on Jan. 12, 1941 to the parentage of Ceola and Willie Jackson.

Early in life, Lewis united with the Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Barlow Bend, later named United Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful and dedicated member who served on the Deacon Board until his health declined. Lewis loved spending time with his family, building things, and watching westerns.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Ruby L. Foxx Jackson; daughter, Juanita Clarke; and three brothers, Eugene, Raymond and Alonzo Jackson;

Left to cherish his memories are his children, daughters, Beverly Jackson and Josephine Jackson, both of Barlow Bend; son, Louis (Chinita) Jackson Jr. of Choctaw Bluff; two devoted brothers, Elbert Jackson Sr. and Willie (Mattie) Jackson of Barlow Bend; five grandchildren, Lavesha Jackson and Racshouta Jackson, both of Barlow Bend, Dontae Jackson and La Toria Jackson, both of Choctaw Bluff, and Nekeita Clarke of Pensacola, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Miller and Giovanni Miller, both of Barlow Bend; three sisters-in-law, Claudia McClain, Carolyn (Nathaniel) Rivers and Bennie Jo Dees, all of Manila; one devoted brotherin law, Tecolian (Rose) Foxx of Alma; four God sent helpers, Cleophus Foxx, Victor Morrisette, Michael Mose and Matthew Lee Clarke; a God sent son, Elbert Jackson Jr.; a devoted cousin, Charlie Jackson of Barlow Bend; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing was Monday, Feb. 6, from 12 until 4 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross Street, Jackson, AL 36545. The funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m., at United Faith Baptist Church, 141 Barlow Community of Gainestown, AL 36540. Internment followed the service at Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 256 Pops Road, Gainestown, AL 36540.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
