Lady Aggies beat Excel

The Jackson High School Lady Aggies improved to 2-3 on the season with a win at home against Excel High School.

Lexi Roberts threw a gem on Thursday for Jackson, allowing zero runs and beating Excel by a score of 10-0

Jackson got on the board in the first inning scoring one run when Savanah Downey singled.

Jackson notched three runs in the fourth inning. The Lady Aggies’ big bats in the inning were led by a triple by Naome Jones, a groundout by Taylor Koins and by Roberts.

A double in the first inning was a positive for Excel High School.

Roberts got the start for Jackson. She lasted five innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero.

Jackson totaled 13 hits. For Jackson, Ineesia Jackson went 2- 3, Downey went 3-3, Roberts went 1-3, Naome Jones went 3-3, Terra Anderson went 1-2, Janna Griffin went 1-3 and Te’viong Jackson went 2-2 at the plate.

Jackson plays next in the Washington County High School Tournament. Times TBA.
