The Lady Aggies drew a tough assignment for their opening game in the Gulf Shores Invitational. The West Nassau Warriors came into the tourney undefeated and ranked No. 6 in Florida. The Jackson (6-8) squad hung tough before falling to the eventual tournament champions.


Chelley Christian (1-3, 4IP, 3ER, 6H, 5BB, 1K) hurled a complete game for the Aggies. Jenny Stevens led the Aggie hitters going 3-3 with a single, a double and a triple.


Brandi Roe, Mary Kendall Butler and Katie McHaney also had hits for the Aggies.

Ardmore 11 – Jackson 0


Things didn’t get much easier for the Lady Aggies (6-9) in Friday night’s second game. The Aggies took on the eventual runner-up, the Ardmore Tigers.


Bailey Pringle (2-3, 6IP, 2ER, 5H, 2BB, 1K) went the distance on the mound for Jackson. Morgan Tipper and Charity Syphrit had the only Aggie hits.

Jackson 6 – Millry 3


Jackson (7-9) finally got a win in the Gulf Shores Tourney with a win over Millry Saturday morning.


Brandi Roe (3-0, 6IP, 1ER, 2H, 2BB, 11K) pitched the first complete game of her career and picked up the win.


Jenny Stevens led the Aggies offensively going 2-2 at the plate.


Brittany Guy, Morgan Tipper and Brittany Harrell added hits for Jackson. Stevens, Emily Allen, Bailey Pringle, Tipper, Guy and Charity Syphrit all scored for the Lady Aggies.

Jackson 6 – Gulf Shores 4


Bailey Pringle (3-3, 6IP, 4ER, 6H, 6BB, 3K) picked up a win against the host Dolphins. The Aggies (8-9) came from behind, scoring three runs in the fifth to notch the win.


Jenny Stevens and Charity Syphrit each had a couple of hits. Lynn Porter and Brittany Guy each added a hit. Stevens, Brandi Roe, Porter and Syphrit all scored.


Gordo 10 – Jackson 7


The Aggies (8-10) were sent packing by the Gordo Green Wave Saturday afternoon.


Katie McHaney (2IP, 3ER, 2H, 2BB, 1K) started the game at pitcher for the Aggies.


Chelley Christian (1-4, 2IP, 2ER, 3H, 4BB, 1K) took over in the third inning and suffered the loss.


Jenny Stevens led all hitters going 3-for-3. Brandi Roe, Katie McHaney and Charity Syphrit all added hits. Stevens, Roe, Brittany Guy and Emily Allen all scored.


Jackson 20


Monroe County 3


The Aggies (9-10) pounded the Monroe County Tigers in Monroeville on Monday afternoon.


Bailey Pringle (4-3, 3IP, 1ER, 2H, 4BB, 5K) started on the hill for Jackson. Brittany Harrell (1IP, 1ER, 0H, 2BB, 1K) made her first varsity appearance on the mound in relief.


Jenny Stevens, Jessica Williams, Lynn Porter, Brandi Roe, Bailey Pringle, Katie McHaney and Charity Syphrit all had hits for JHS. Becky Bouler, Stevens, Emily Allen, Williams, Harrell, Porter, Roe, Pringle, McHaney and Brittany Guy all scored.


The Aggies will travel to Fruitdale today (Thursday).


The Aggies host Choctaw County Friday and Leroy Tuesday before taking a few days off for spring break.
