JHS Aggies hoops off to slow start

The Jackson Aggies lost three games in the Pre- Thanksgiving Shootout Tournament at Robertsdale High School last week.

On November 24, they lost to Daphne High School 69-38 to drop to 1-3 on the young season.

This was a three-day event that started on Nov. 22. The Aggies also lost to Baker on Monday 68-32 and lost to Robertsdale on Tuesday 51-45.

The Aggies finished Eighth Place in the tournament.

But the Aggies only had part of their basketball team for these first four games because the rest of the team was still playing in the football playoffs at that time.

In the game against Daphne the leading scorer for the Aggies was Jonah Hughes with 12 points.

The leading scorers for the Aggies against Robertsdale were, Jaqualyn Jackson and Michael Reed both with 12 points each.

The leading scorers for Jackson against Baker were, Jaqualyn Jackson with nine points and Jaquelan Dotson and Micah Caster both with seven points each.

The Aggies only win so far came against Leroy in a 52-48 victory.

The leading scorers for the Aggies were Jayron Merrill with 12 points, Micah Caster with 11 points, Jaqualyn Jackson with 10 points and Jonah Hughes with nine points.

The Aggies play next away at Chickasaw on Tuesday, December 7 at 5 p.m. and at home against Thomasville on Thursday, December 9 at 4:30 p.m.
