Janet Jean Overstreet, 63, born Monday, Feb. 2, 1959 in Jackson, a resident of State Line, Miss., passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 at the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile due to complications that resulted from COVID-19. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
The simplest pleasures in life brought her the greatest joy. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in all situations. Her pleasant, sweet personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was a dedicated servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, tending to the farm, spending time with family and friends and enjoyed the companionship of her precious animalc ompanion “Little Bit.”
Janet is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Geneva (Coxwell) Overstreet; former spouse, Darrell Williams; grandson, Daryl Cade Crager; maternal grandparents, Steven Thomas Coxwell and Ollie (Web) Coxwell; paternal grandparents, Connie Mitchell Overstreet and Ruth Estelle (Webb) Overstreet.
She is survived by two daughters, one son and one daughter-in-law, Janaka Darrelle Williams, Jennifer Natosha (Myrian Carvalho) Williams and Darrell Heath Williams; former spouse, Warren Henderson; father, Benjamin Franklin (Lynda) Overstreet; siblings, Benny Ray Overstreet, Juanita Maria Overstreet Allen, Paula Lynette Overstreet (Michael) Ivey and Jeffrey Paul Overstreet; grandchildren, Hayden Michial West and Abigail Rose Williams; special cousin, Brenda Elaine Huckabee; seven nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 12 until 2 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 39608 Hwy 63 N, Sand Hill, MS 39476. Janet’s final resting place will be in the Pine Crest Cemetery located in Jackson.
