The Eagles’ offensive line blocks Wilcox Academy in Jackson Academy’s 50-22 win this past Friday night to cement the season at 10-0.
The Jackson Academy Eagles are now 10-0 on the season and 4-0 in the region after defeating Wilcox Academy 50-22 on Friday, Oct. 21 at home.
The Eagles got things started when Cain Richardson ran for 47 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The PAT failed and it was 6-0.
Wilcox replied, scoring a touchdown and missing the PAT to tie the game at 6-6 in the second quarter.
JA’s Huntley Dees ran 63 yards for a touchdown and the two-point conversion run by Cameron Thomas was good and JA reclaimed the lead 14-6.
The Eagles scored on a Luke Gunter run for four yards and then a touchdown to make it 20-6. The two-point play failed.
Wilcox scored a touchdown and the two-point play was good to cut the JA lead to 20-14, still in the second quarter.
Dees’ pass was complete to Cameron Thomas for nine yards and a touchdown and the two-point conversion pass by Dees to Thomas was good to make it 28-14 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Thomas intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown and JA led 34- 14. The two-point play failed.
The Eagles scored again when Thomas ran for 33 yards and another touchdown and the two-point conversion pass by Dees to Luke Gunter was good to make it 42-14.
Zander Jordan would run for 25 yards for a touchdown and the two-point conversion pass by Dees to Thomas was good and the Eagles were pulling away 50-14.
Wilcox rallied and scored and the two-point conversion was good to cut the JA lead to 50-22 but that would end the scoring.
For Jackson Academy, Dees was 8 of 14 passing for 77 yards and a TD and rushed five times for 89 yards and a TD.
Cain Richardson rushed 12 times for 115 yards and a TD and caught four passes for 29 yards.
E.J. Hunt rushed three times for 52 yards, Thomas rushed four times for 47 yards and a TD and caught two passes for 33 yards and a TD.
Gunter rushed four times for 38 yards and a TD and caught two passes for 15 yards.
Harley Dixon and T.R. Hodge had five tackles each and four solo tackles each and two assists each.
JA plays next at home against Lakeside School in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7.M.
