Elsie C. Patrick, 88, of Leroy, passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Gilbertown on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1933. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for 45 years at Vanity Fair. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy, where she served for 62 years as the church treasurer. She loved visiting with family and friends, especially her great-great-niece, Brianna Dixon. She also enjoyed cross stitching and visiting antique shops.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Oliver Cooper and Lucy Phillips Cooper; husband, Aubrey Glenn Patrick; and siblings, Ruth Atchison and Milton Cooper Sr.

She is survived by her niece, Dianne (Rodger) Dean; nephew, James E. (Louise) Atchison; greatnephew, Jason (Donna) Dixon; great-niece, Kim (Danny) King; great-greatniece, Brianna Dixon; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 13, at the First Baptist Church of Leroy, with the Revs. Dave Delegal, Ben Posey and Chris Giles officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the new church cemetery, with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Quincy Baros, Mark Blount, Wayne Harrison, Jerry Reeves, Eddie Williams and Larry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will include the Adult III Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Leroy.
