Elizabeth Simon Jackson

 

 

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Simon Jackson, a native of Leroy, answered the Master’s call Friday, May 10, 2019, at her Jackson residence. Lizzie was born July 9, 1926 to Laura Louise Brown Simon and Jimmie Simon; she was 92 years of age.

A ccepting Christ at an early age, she united with the Jackson AOH Church of God. Lizzie loved fishing and caring for animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Jackson; two infant children; and 17 siblings.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her four sons, Alphonso (devoted daughterin law Shirley) Jackson and Arthor Jackson, both of Jackson, Willie Jackson and Tommie Jackson, both of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Hattie Crowell of Charleston; a host of grandchildren, including devoted granddaughter Paula Clarke, and many great-grandchildren; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friend of the family, Jessie Rodgers.

Public viewing will be Friday, May 17, from 1 until 5 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson. Service will be Saturday, May 18, with viewing from 1:30 until the 2:30 p.m. homegoing service at Jackson AOH Church of God, 328 Davis Ave., Jackson. Overseer Frank Mitchell, pastor, will be the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 

 

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson, Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson.
