Taking part in the ribbon-cutting were (L-R): Chamber Director Katie Soderquist, Louis Sullivan, McDonnell, Chamber Board President Judith Wilson and Mayor Paul South.

A ribbon-cutting for Dixieland Designs was held Monday, July 11 at the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce. Business owner, Christina McDonnell offers beautiful flowers made from wood that are completely customizable for weddings, showers or any occasion that calls for flowers. She says these flowers are an affordable alternative to fresh florals, can be reused and don’t need to be preserved. Sola wood flowers are an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to cut flowers. Each flower is created by hand and no machines are used. McDonnell, originally from New Jersey, moved to Jackson last year.
