Demons improve to 11-3 after big win over Fruitdale

The Demons had a tough first half against Fruitdale High School at home on Friday. McIntosh High School went up 16-13 in the first period and Fruitdale was able to keep it close in the second period. The Demons scored 15 and Fruitdale scored 12 as McIntosh led 31-25 at halftime.

But the wheels fell off for Fruitdale in the third period as McIntosh outscored them 26-3 to take a commanding 57-28 lead in the basketball game. Both teams scored only five points in the final period as McIntosh won handily 62-33

“I don’t know what it is, but we have had trouble in the third period all year. We have played some really good games this year and should have won more if not for the let down in the third period,” said Fruitdale Head Coach Trajan Hamilton.

McIntosh improves to 11- 3 on the season and 2-1 in area play and Fruitdale drops to 3-12 on the season and 1-3 in area play.

For McIntosh, Shon Williams had 13 points, Chuckie Barnes had 11 points and Corey Williams had 10.

For Fruitdale, Keith James had 13 points.

McIntosh plays next at home against Satsuma High School on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
