Crystal Ann Andrews- Overton, “Little Bit” or “Chris,” as she was called by those who knew and loved her, passed away at her home on Aug. 9, 2023. She was born in Grove Hill, Sept. 15, 1963 to parents Willie Floyd “Pokey” Andrews and Polly Ann Powell.
Crystal enjoyed crocheting, making wooden dolls and listening to southern gospel music. She found refuge in sitting on her porch watching the birds, the cardinal being her favorite, and gazing at the beautiful flower beds she had created. Her heart was her grandchildren and she was known to them as Granny.
Mrs. Overton and her husband, Glenn, were married on July 9, 1993. They made their home on Asbury Road in Grove Hill, where they raised their children. Although small in stature, she was very feisty, and you didn’t mess with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Mrs. Overton is survived by her husband, Glen Overton; daughter, Debbie Cumlander; sons, William “Bill” (Wendy) Lockart and Christopher (Katelyn) Overton; with nine grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Asbury Baptist Church in Grove Hill. The funeral followed at 11. Interment wasbe in the church cemetery, with Dr. Leon Parnell officiating and St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
