celebrate 3rd anniversary

Mt. Bethel Baptist Church of Frankville invites all to the third anniversary celebration of their pastor, the Rev. Anthony Kimbrough Sr., Friday, July 16 at 7 p.m., climaxing July 18 at 3 p.m.

Guest speaker Friday will be Pastor Theodore Law of the Full Gospel Apostolic Church of God in St. Stephens; Sunday will be Pastor Floyd Bell of Bethel Pine Baptist Church in Coatpa.

Frost Bridge

Camp Meeting

The 114th encampment of Frost Bridge Camp Meeting will be July 16-25. Evangelists will be the Rev. Paul Womack and Major Ron Busro, along with youth evangelist, the Rev. Duke Underwood.

Daily services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Various soloists and choirs will provide the music beginning at 7 nightly.

Accommodations include an air conditioned motel and dorms for the youth; daily meals are available in the dining hall. The camp has complete RV hook-ups for campers.

The pastor, officers and members of New Canaan Baptist Church family invite the community to attend their annual homecoming program on Sunday, July 18 at 12 p.m. The guest speaker will be Elder Jim Perine Jr., pastor of the Church of God Pentecostal in Choctaw Bluff. The Rev. Hurley James is pastor.

The pastor, first lady and congregation of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Morvin invite the community to their “Color-Rama” program Sunday, July 18 at 2:30 p.m.

“Standing on God’s Promises” is the theme for the event, with guest speaker the Rev. Demarrio Brown of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Starkville, Miss. Guest choir will be the New Mt. Moriah of Nanafalia and special guests will be the Unity Church of Grove Hill.

Revival being hosted

The Hobson Assembly of God Church will be hosting a revival Sunday through Tuesday, July 18-20. The Rev. Steven R. Perry will be the guest speaker. Service on Sunday will begin at 5 p.m. and at 7 on Monday and Tuesday.

The senior choir at the Jackson A.O.H. Church of God in Jackson will celebrate their annual Choir Day beginning Friday, July 23 at 7 p.m. and climaxing Sunday, July 25 at 3:30 p.m.

Rev. Davis to be

honored for 15th

pastoral anniversary

The Rev. and Mrs. Clayton Davis Sr. will celebrate their 15th year anniversary as pastor and first lady of Saint John Baptist Church in Gainestown July 23 and 25.

Beginning on Friday at 7 p.m., Joy Night, the guest speaker will be Elder Author Scott, pastor of Faith Whole Truth No. 2 Church. All groups, choirs and soloists are invited.

Events will climax on Sunday with Minister Fredrick Howard, assistant minister of Saint John Baptist Church, as the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service. The Elder James Richardson Sr., pastor of AOH Church of God in Winn, will deliver the anniversary sermon during a 2:30 p.m. program.

and Friends Day’

Pastor Samuel L. Calhoun invites all to worship with Sunflower AOH Church of God in Thomasville as their host “Family and Friends Day” on Sunday, July 25 at 3 p.m. Special guests will include Pastor Robert Boykin and the Freewill Family Pentecostal Church of Greenwood.

The theme for this event will be “The Lord God will we serve, and His voice will we obey.” Joshua 24:24. Refreshments will be served.

The First United Methodist Church in Jackson will conduct Vacation Bible School July 26-30, 6- 8:30 nightly. The “Galactic Blast”, “Taking care of God’s Green Earth” is the theme for the week. There will be Bible stories, games, crafts and snack supper featured each night.

The Bradys in concert

at Stave Creek Baptist

Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson will be presenting a live southern gospel concert featuring The Bradys from Dothan July 31 beginning at 7 p.m.

The Bradys were nominated as “Horizon Group of the Year” in southern gospel music and they are the Dove award writers of The Hoppers’ song of the year “Here I Am.”

Pastor Jamie Lay said, “The Bradys are an energetic group from South Alabama that is igniting fires of enthusiasm all across the country.”

District Sunday School

& BTU Congress

The 52nd annual session of the Union Missionary Baptist District Sunday School and BTU Congress of Christian Education will be at the New Canaan Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff on Saturday, July 31, beginning at 9 a.m.

The Double Branch Assembly of God in Frankville will be taking orders for fresh frozen vegetables through Aug. 1 to support their building fund. The congregation is preparing to remodel their church building and raising funds to support the effort.

The New Union Missionary Baptist Church family will celebrate the fourth anniversary of Pastor Donald Reed on Sunday, Aug. 1, at the 11 a.m. service. Speaker will be the Rev. Christopher Thompson of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Forest, Miss.

The celebration will continue in the afternoon at 3 p.m. with guest speaker and special guests, the Rev. Fred D. Moore and the Christian Chapel Baptist Church family of Demopolis.

Community workday
to repair homeless shelter

Everyone is invited to a community workday being coordinated by Foreman Chapel Baptist Church repairing their homeless shelter Aug. 6 and 7, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., 849 E. Church Street, Jackson.

Volunteers are needed to help repair and upgrade. Supplies needed include: lumber, tools, nails, wood, labor and time.

Foreman Chapel Baptist Church provides services to the community such as food, clothing, shelter, transportation, housing for single mothers, personal care, elderly assistance and spiritual counseling.
