Bobby Ray Brooks, age 75, of Thomasville, passed away doing what he loved with cattle on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Bobby Ray Brooks was born in Fulton on June 30, 1947 to Bryant Wiley Brooks and Doris Inez Rivers Brooks. He attended Fulton School and then went on into the workforce. He later married Joyce Dianne (Fuller) on May 24, 1969. They were happily married for 50 years.

Bobby Ray enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandkids. He loved a good road trip no matter the destination. If there was a good western on TV then he was watching it. Most of all he enjoyed his grandkids.

Bobby Ray is survived by his two sons, Bobby Wayne Brooks (Cyndi) and Billy Ray Brooks (Stacie), both of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Garrett Brooks, Macy Brooks, Jessica Brooks and Benjamin Brooks; one brother, Billy Lee Brooks; two sisters, Jeanne Brooks Sheffield (Larry) and Barbara Brooks Harrison.

Bobby Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Fuller Brooks; and his parents, Bryant Brooks and Doris Brooks.

Funeral services were held at Liberty Baptist Church on Monday, May 8, 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Faircloth officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

Active pallbearers were Len Baugh, Kevin Fuller, Randy Gates, Jody Daniels, Daryl Green and Dewayne Gates. Honorary pallbearers were a host of nephews.
