Barbara Louise Roberts, 69, died Jan. 24, 2023. Barbara was born May 7, 1953 to Rachel and Jack Woodyard. She was a resident of Jackson, where she was a member of Walker Springs Road Baptist Church. Barbara was known for her feisty nature and firecracker personality. A bit of a night owl, she loved listening to music and dancing the night away. Barbara was never the type to meet a stranger; if she ever had a chance to sit down with you she would pepper you with questions in an effort to get to know her new friend better. She enjoyed socializing: eating out, shopping and visiting loved ones and friends, both old and new. She was a precise lady who liked things just so; everything had a place and if you neglected to put something back properly she would let you know the next time you spoke with her. Barbara also enjoyed watching her favorite shows including The Price Is Right and The Big Bang Theory.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Diane Powell; grandchildren, Dillon Croom and Jennifer Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Caleb Croom, Canaan Croom, Emillia Humphrey, Griffin Humphrey and Ronin Humphrey; siblings, Raymond Woodyard, John Woodyard, Steve Woodyard and Mary Lee Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steven Roberts; siblings, Rudolph Woodyard, George Woodyard Jr., and Benny Woodyard.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m., at Walker Springs Road Baptist Church, with Bro. David Webb officiating and Lathan Funeral Home, directing. Visitation was from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Interment followed the service in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leroy.

Active pallbearers were Jackson Hearn, Johnny Seabrook, Dillon Woodyard, Dalton Woodyard, Curtis Woodyard and Alex Cunningham. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Spence.
