Hearings set on proposed tax to benefit hospital

Two public meetings are scheduled to discuss a proposed one-cent sales tax increase to benefit Jackson Medical Center, including the construction of a new emergency room. The first hearing will be Tuesday, Dec. 14 and the second Tuesday, Dec. 28. Both meetings are at 5 p.m. at Jackson City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.
