The Clarke – Washington Counties Fair opened Monday at the McMullen Fairgrounds in North Jackson. The annual event continues through Saturday with rides to fit anyone’s taste — tame or wild. Sandflat area hit by tornado

A tornado touched down along Sandflat Road near Highway 154, southwest of Thomasville Friday evening, downing trees and power lines and damaging two homes and other structures. No one was injured.
