Truck jackknifes on river bridge



Jackson Police and Fire departments were kept busy for hours last Thursday when an 18-wheeler jackknifed on the south-bound lanes of the river bridge. Traffic was backed up for several hours following the incident. There were no injuries reported.

Memorial Day fire in Stave Creek



The Jackson Fire Department responded to a house fire in the Stave Creek area that totally destroyed this dwelling on Memorial Day. The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Washington Co. citizen says ‘smaller roads’ need attention
