Woman charged with endangering her unborn child through drug abuse
Kimberly Lane Craddock, 25, of Jackson, was booked Oct. 26 in the Clarke County Jail for chemically endangering a child. The child she endangered is her own child yet to be born. Saluting the old ways in Grove Hill
The Pioneer Days celebration at the Clarke County Museum in Grove Hill Saturday featured everything from handmade dolls (above) to reenactors dressed in frontier garb (right). Frontier work from clothes washing to blacksmithing and shinglemaking was demonstrated. It was a cool and cloudy day but the turnout for the annual event was good. See more photos inside.
Theft alleged at closed restaurant
A theft was reported Oct. 22 at the now closed Jackson Steakhouse on Highway 43. According to police spokesman Lem DuBose, the owner of the establishment, Barbara Holton, reported that approximately $5,000 had been taken Oct. 20 from deposits to be made to the bank, the restaurant safe and the cash register.
