Grafton announces for Jackson City Council
Wayne Grafton Wayne Grafton, this week, announced his plans to seek the District 3, Place 2 Jackson City Council seat currently held by Daron Bolen.
Grafton said he feels his past experience as a successful business owner would help him in making the right decisions for the city. For 16 years he owned and operated a business consulting firm in Jackson, before selling a large portion of the business and taking a job with Clarke Mobile Counties Gas District.
Grafton, who served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War, has been married to his wife Dora for 29 years. They have three children, a son, Matthew, and two daughters, Alex and Lanie.
Some of the improvements Grafton said he would like to see come about in Jackson include increasing recreational opportunities for young people and development of the city’s waterfront to include more entertainment opportunities such as theatre, music and restaurants. He said he would also like to see more assistance for small businesses, which are the backbone of towns the size of Jackson.
“Because I have been a successful business owner, I believe I can bring a new perspective to the governing body of this city,” said Grafton. “I would appreciate the support of the voters of District 3 in the upcoming municipal election.”
