Jason DeWitt Powell Sr., a resident of Grove Hill, passed away at his home March 28, 2012. Mr. Powell was born June 15, 1969 and was 42 years of age at the time of his death.

He was employed as an operations manager with Francis Powell Enterprises. Mr. Powell was a graduate of the University of Mobile and a member of the Grove Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Francis Powell and Jimmie Frances “San-San” Powell of Grove Hill; two sons, Jason DeWitt Powell Jr. of Grove Hill and Maurice Paul “Reece” Powell of Mobile; daughters, Sarah Leighton Powell and Jaclynn Blair Powell, both of Mobile; one sister, Molly Powell Agee of Grove Hill; and one nephew, Powell Adams Agee of Grove Hill.

Funeral services were April 1 at Grove Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Merck officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Tony Sheffield, Chad Agee, Bobby Dickinson, Jay Duke, Jeff Garrick, Robby Huggins, Jerry Kennedy and Dennis Powell. Honorary pallbearers included Bobby Keahey, Shirley Davis, Dana Becton, Roy Carlisle, Edmond Gaines, Coach Billy Hamilton, Mike Johnson, Maurice Paul, Mike Powell, Rodger Pugh and Scott Sealy.
