Horace Edward Beasley Jr.
Horace Edward Beasley Jr., a native of Washington County and resident of Hobson, passed away March 31, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary. He was 81 years of age.
A member of Hobson Assembly of God, he retired as an employee of the Washington County Board of Education.
Mr. Beasley enjoyed being a “prankster” around his friends as much as his friends enjoyed the pranks. He loved his family and community very much. He loved reading the Mobile Press Register each morning, keeping up with the latest on Alabama football and Nascar’s Jeff Gordon.
At one time he and his late wife, Doris, owned a operated Lake Marie, a family restaurant in Hobson, where he enjoyed greeting diners and taking credit for all the “hard work” that went into the delicious meals.
Surviving Mr. Beasley are his son, Terry (Donna) Beasley of Chatom; grandson, Brandon Beasley of Chatom; one sister, Betty (Julian) Tedder of Silver Hill; two brothers, Raybon (Carol) Beasley of Pensacola, Fla., and Johnny Beasley of Bay Minette; and special sister-in-law, Linnie Beasley of Satsuma.
Funeral services were April 2 at the Hobson Assembly of God with the Revs. Steve Foster and Jerry Roberson officiating. Interment was at the Jones- Beech Cemetery in Hobson under the direction of St. Stephens Funeral Home.
