Warrene Bolen Barbaree

Warrene Bolen Barbaree, a native and lifelong resident of Jackson, was born May 9, 1923 and passed away Feb. 10, 2012 at Jackson Medical Center. Mrs. Barbaree was 88 years of age at the time of her death.

She was a retired secretary, having worked for Vanity Fair Mills and Jackson High School. A member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, W.M.U., and the Garden Club of Alabama, she also served for many years on the Vanity Fair Park Committee.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Barbaree of Jackson; and nieces Becky Stacy and Carolyn Tellier, both of Mobile, Flo Miller of Jackson, Dr. Nancy Henley Gillespie of Durham, N.C., and Dana Bolen of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 13, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Tim Huie officiating. Interment was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.

Pallbearers included Bob Bumpers, Jim Reid, Bud Rogers, Arlen York, Harold Boldin, Jimmy Ricketts, Jimmy Allen and John Douglas McGowin. Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Goolsby, Audra Raybon, Joe Beverly and Melvin Joiner.
