Freddie James Foxx
Freddie James Foxx, 66, of Alma, died Sept. 3, 2010 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile. He was a retired skidder operator in logging.
Survivors include three sisters, Claudia McClain and Carolyn L. Rivers, both of Manila, and Bennie (Bobby) Deas of Gainestown; two brothers, William Foxx of Gainestown and Tecolian (Rose) Foxx of Alma; sisterin law, Violet Foxx of Allentown, Pa.; brother-in-law, Lewis Jackson of Barlow Bend; one aunt, Josephine (Jephro) Rankin of Alma; two uncles, Willis Foxx of Gainestown and Jessie Foxx of Alma; god-son, Freddie Jackson of Dothan; a loving relative, Savannah Hunt of Mobile and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Foxx; sister, Ruby Lean Foxx Jackson; brothers, Roosevelt Foxx and Robert Foxx.
Funeral services are today, Thursday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews No. 1 Baptist Church in Manila with the Rev. Willie Causey, pastor, and the Rev. Henry Frowner as officiating minister. Viewing will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home.
