John Barry Fowler
John Barry Fowler, a native and resident of Grove Hill, died July 28, 2010 at 45 years of age. He was a retired Jackson police officer, a supervisor with Southwest Alabama Construction in Jackson and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson.
Survivors include his father, Billy Fowler of Grove Hill; one daughter, Rebecca Leigh Fowler of Jackson; brother, Bill “Jody” Fowler of Montgomery; three nieces, Emily Fowler, Abbey Fowler and Audrey Fowler, all of Montgomery; and three aunts, Nell Brunson of Grove Hill, Ann Johnson of Mexia and Inez Beck of Daphne.
His mother, Betty Ann Morgan Fowler, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were July 31, at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. David Curtis and Jerry Gibson officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville.
Pallbearers were Wesley Noble, Will Harrell, Kevin Brunson, Craig Butts, Adam Gunter, Lee Carlisle, Kevin Woodson, Benji Elmore and Chandler Sammons. Honorary pallbearers included Jimmy Butts, Wendell Patterson, Charles Peevy and the Jackson Police Department.
