Coma Calvin Horton

Coma Calvin Horton, 79, a native of Winn and resident of Grove Hill, died July 24, 2010 in Grove Hill. He and his family owned and operated B & H Auto Parts, Inc. He served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Grove Hill Baptist Church and Grove Hill Lions Club. Previously, Mr. Horton had served seven years on the Grove Hill Town Council.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Horton of Grove Hill; two sons, Gary Horton and Keith Horton, both of Grove Hill; one brother, Jerry Horton of Jackson; sister, Betty Smith of Chatom; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three step-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, July 26, at Grove Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Smith and Lee Merk Officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery at Grove Hill with Lathan Funeral Home of Grove Hill directing.

Pallbearers included Brett Horton, Jacob Horton, Logan Horton, John Johnson, Dwight Johnson and Ronnie Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers included the Dale Harris Sunday School Class, Ray Sheffield, Fred Kilgore, Morris Dyess, Francis Powell, Wayne Garrick and Tom Daffin.
