Minnie Coleman James

Minnie Lee Coleman James, 61, of Jackson, died July 1, 2010 at the Jackson Medical Center. She was a member of the Star of Zion A.M.E. Zion Church of Jackson where she sang in the choir. She was a former member of the Jackson Mass Choir.

Survivors include her husband, Mose McReynolds of Jackson; four daughters, Latrese James, Vanes Lia James, Ulander (Anthony) Yelder, all of Jackson, and Lamoslyn James of Bay Minette; one son, Edward (Sheritta) James Jr. of Jackson; two sisters, Emma Puller and Gloria Ann Adams, both of Jackson; three brothers, William (Myrtis) Jordan, Jerry (Marilyn) Jordan, both of Jackson, and Raymond (Shirley) Houston of Los Angeles, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William Jordan and Addie Coleman; son, Kwarence LaQuint James; grandson, Anfernee Yelder; sister, Joyce Jones Wiggins; and brother, Willie Coleman.

Funeral services are today, Thursday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Union Baptist Church in Jackson with the Rev. James M. Howard Sr., pastor. Viewing is one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson.
