Jerry O’Neil Leggett, 49, of Walker Springs, died May 27, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He was a member of the Harper High Class of 1979. Mr. Leggett was a self-employed trucker.

Survivors include his wife, Roseline Leggett of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one devoted daughter, Lageria Leggett; two sons, Troami (Michelle) Laster and Dominique Laster, both of West Palm Beach; two devoted brothers, Eddie Charles (Lelia) Leggett of Mobile and Herman Leggett of West Palm Beach; two sisters, Ursula (Ted) Roberts of Orlando, Fla. and Leketha S. Leggett of St. Paul, N.C.; one great-aunt, Luberta Rivers Ratcliff; aunt, Geraldine Williamson; and uncle, John Lee (Lillie) Scott.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jerry and Luberta Scott Leggett.

Funeral services were June 5 at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs with the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor, pastor, and the Rev. Gilbert Leggett, officiating minister. Interment followed in the Hotel Hill Cemetery in Walker Springs under the direction of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson.
