Mary Jane Dortch, 70, a resident of Vredenburgh, died March 28, 2010 at her home. She was a member of Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church in Hybart.

Survivors include her mother, Alberta Dortch of Vredenburgh; six brothers, William (Valerie) Dortch of Columbus, Ohio, John (Vada) Dortch of Rochester, N.Y., Floyd (Laura) Dortch of District Heights, Md., George (Jackie) Knight of Coy, Affreddie (Aretha) Finklea of Miami, Fla., and Robert (Marlon) Finklea of Greenville; one sister, Connie Finklea of Vredenburgh; sister in-law, Jessie Dortch of Mobile; and aunts, O’Neal Campbell of Mobile, Mary Primm of Avon, N.Y., Thelma Dortch and Velma Nettles, both of Vredenburgh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Dortch; brothers, Aaron Dortch and Cleo Dortch.

Funeral services will be Sunday, April 4, 2 p.m., at Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Raymond Mayes, pastor and officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Crosby Cemetery in Hybart with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson directing.
