James Edgar Pace Jr.

James Edgar Pace Jr., 84, died March 3, 2010 at his Wagarville residence. A native of Munson, Fla., Mr. Pace was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Marines and a member of the Disabled Veterans of America. He was a self-employed brick mason.

Survivors include a son, James (Maxine) Michael Pace of Brewton; one daughter, Linda (Jim) Ruth Ready of Wagarville; grandchildren, Wendy (Wayne) Roney and John Baxley, both of Jay, Fla., Lisa (Anthony) Hardy of Brewton, Fla., Jamie (Jennifer) Mathis of Pace, Fla., Cody Ready and Colt Ready, both of Wagarville, and Kayla (Cleve) Walley of Sand Hill, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Blake Roney, Brooke Roney and Tucker James Bond, all of Jay, Trenton Baxley and Tyler Baxley, both of Chunchula, Walker Walley of Sand Hill, and Adelyn Raine Mathis of Pace; numerous nieces and nephews, one devoted, Richard (Billy Jean) Gibson and one sister-in-law, Virgie Chason Pace of Quincy, Fla.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Minnie Belle Nolen Pace and James Edgar Pace Sr.; wife, Annie Ruth Hall Pace; son, Donald Wayne Pace; sister, Effie Pace McGinnis; and five brothers, Robert L. Pace, Paul C. Pace, Grover C. Pace, Hosea Pace and Willis C. Pace.

Funeral services were March 6 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Sullivan officiating. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery in Wagarville.
