Pineview Baptist hosts ‘A Celebration of Worship’
Travis Agee
Youth pastor Travis Agee of Chatom Baptist Church and Reconciled Ministries will be leading celebration services at Pineview Baptist Church on Highway 43 South in Thomasville Saturday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. After the service, a pizza supper will be hosted for all the youth in attendance.
The Saturday night message is part of a three-day revival at Pineview. Agee will speak Friday night at 6, Saturday, and then again on Sunday morning at the 10 a.m. praise and worship service. A meal will also follow the Sunday morning service served by Pineview’s youth who are raising funds for an upcoming youth camp.
In the north Rio Grande Valley, 17-year-old Travis Agee climbed atop a bus to proclaim his love for Jesus. He shared his testimony with the residents of Reynosa, a city in turmoil. After he spoke, seven Mexican women and one 9- year-old boy came forward to receive salvation. The 9 year old told Travis he wanted to be just as bold and proclaim the message of Jesus.
“I knew right there in that garbage dump where we were that this was what God wanted me to do with my life. To work with teenagers who had experienced the world and all its hurts and who were still searching, I came to show them that God could fill that empty hole in their hearts,” Agee says.
Agee earned a degree in theology from the University of Mobile, and while there he went on other mission trips to Canada and stateside.
He grew up in Pine Hill and attended Thomasville High School. He is the son of Lisa Garrett Agee of Pine Hill and Don Agee of Sand Hill, Miss. He is the grandson of Eva Champion and the late Hank Champion, Willie Mary Agee and the late Guston Agee, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester James Garrett, all of Pine Hill.
He and his wife of seven months, the former Mindy Everett, make their home in Chatom. He is a member of the praise and worship group “Reconciled Ministries Band.” Agee is also a chaplain with AseraCare Hospice.
Everyone is invited to attend the services Friday- Sunday, Feb. 19-21, at Pineview Baptist Church.
