Robert L. “Bob” Alday Jr. died Jan. 12, 2010 at the age of 83 in a Mobile hospital. A resident of Leroy, he was veteran of the U.S. Navy and active in WWII. Alday retired as a barber and a hairdresser. He enjoyed singing country music and was a member of The Gulf Coast Opry and the Mobile Country Music Association.

He is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

The visitation and funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 15 in the chapel of Gilmer’s Funeral Home in Mobile. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Saraland under the direction of Gilmer’s Funeral Home.
