Cora Louise Nichols
Cora Louise Nichols, a native and resident of Grove Hill, died Dec. 13, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Nichols was 76 years of age at the time of her death. She was a retired hand operator with Vanity Fair Mills and a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Nichols of Walker Springs; two daughters, Janet Lynn of Walker Springs and Judith N. Richardson of Yulee, Fla.; two brothers, Bobby Smith of Dauphin Island and Monty Smith of Grove Hill; and two sisters, Ruth Pezent of Walker Springs and Faye Anderson of Grove Hill.
Two brothers, Roy and Willie Marvin Smith, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Dec. 16 at Hebron United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jerry Gibson, Percy Clarke and Maurice Dyess officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Family Cemetery under the direction of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.
Active pallbearers were Micah Smith, Micah Nichols, Ray Smith, Glenn Smith, Johnny Pezent and David Nichols. Honorary pallbearers included Roger Nichols, Glenn Simpson, T. Bob Andrews, Bruce Andrews, Casey Powell, Joe Powell, Greg Smith, Rodney Smith and Darrell Syphrit.
