The Jackson Fire Department's 2009 Fire Prevention Court was announced this week. Those chosen (L-R) are Maid Samantha Slayton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Slayton; Maid Bridget Chancey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Chancey; Queen Kristin Weaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Weaver; Maid Savannah Autry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Autry; and Maid Lauren Rodriguez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Rodriguez Jr. All are seniors at Jackson High School. Fire Prevention week will be observed in Jackson Oct. 4-10. The week's events follow a chosen theme and include inspections of businesses, as well as a parade. See next week's paper for details.
