Yielding to the Holy Spirit

Isaiah 10:27 "And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing."

Isaiah gives us a great illustration of how the anointing breaks the yoke. In biblical times a smaller ox would have to go wherever the larger ox would lead. This is what happens to us when we are under the influence of the devil and we yoke ourselves to him. Wherever he leads us, we follow.

If he leads us in sin, we follow.

If he leads us in fear, we follow.

If he leads us in sickness, we follow.

But Isaiah says the anointing breaks the yoke. We need more of the anointing of the Holy Spirit! How do I have more of the anointing? Yield to the Holy Spirit!

When we are driving our automobiles, there are three things we should do when approaching a yield sign. These three things also can apply to the Holy Spirit:

1) Slow Down … we need to "wait" upon the Lord more.

2) Stop … sometimes we must come to a complete stop.

What should I stop? Sinning.

3) Surrender the right-ofway … this means there will be less of self and more of God.

God desires to give us more of His anointing! Will you yield?
