Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Wayne Whitfield Kristin Morgan Schultz and Christopher Wayne Whitfield were united in marriage at the Kimbell House in Jackson Saturday, June 20, 2009. The Rev. Daryl Brunson officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Schultz and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvin R. Brunson and Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Schultz, all of Grove Hill.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Dailey and Larry W. Whitfield, all of Grove Hill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Whitfield, Joyce Harvell and Vera Gates, all of Grove Hill, and the late Willie Gates.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride's sister, Jessica Schultz, was the maid of honor. Attending the groom as best man was his father. Ushers included Brendan Becton and Cameron Whitfield, nephew of the groom. Blair Powell and Laura Kathryn Newsom were the flower girls with Cameron Jordan, the bride's son, as ring bearer.

Mary Hannah Newsom and Leighton Powell were rice bag attendants. Tiffany Newsom directed the wedding.

A reception followed the ceremony. The couple is making their home in Grove Hill.

Couple feted by showers

On Saturday, April 4, the couple was honored with a garden shower and outdoor dinner at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Schultz, hosted by Jessica Schultz, sister of the bride, and Celia Becton.

The couple received a variety of gifts for the outdoors.

A bath and linen shower was co-hosted at the home of Robyn Blaylock on Sunday, April 19, by Sharon Reynolds and Nancy Brunson. The bride received many gifts for the home.

The church family of Union Baptist Church of Grove Hill honored the bride with an assortment of gifts at a miscellaneous shower Sunday, May 3.
