Joshua Dixon

Joshua Dixon, son of Pat and Frank Dixon of Grove Hill, graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham on Sunday, May 17, 2009. He graduated in the top 10 percentile of the 2009 class.

A member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, he was a recipient of the William R. Shamblin, M.D., Surgery Award, which is presented in recognition of academic excellence in surgery.

Graduating with a medical degree, Dixon is specializing in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He will be in residency for five years with the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Dixon is an alumni of the Class of 2001 of Jackson Academy and majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry, graduated from the University of Alabama in 2004.

He is the grandson of Loucille and Hayward Dixon of Millry and the late Marjorie and John Stuckey.
