Youth Day program scheduled at Mt. Olive No. II
The community has been invited to celebrate Mt. Olive No. II's spring revival. The theme is "The church reaching out to an unsaved technological age" (Rom. 10:9). Services continue through Friday, May 1, at 7 nightly. The evangelist is the Rev. Darryl Moore of Second Baptist Church in Selma.
Cobb-Wilson Cemetery workday announced
There will be a cemetery workday at Cobb-Wilson Cemetery on Saturday, May 2. The cemetery is located on the Annie Wilson place. For further information call 334-994-4192.
Dave Peterson Ministries to be at First Pentecostal
The First Pentecostal Church of Jackson invites the community to a singing Saturday, May 2, at 7 p.m. Featured will be Dave Peterson Ministries. The church is located at 713 Forest Avenue. All are welcome.
Pine Chapel hosting Men and Women's Day
The Rev. Tyrone Pogue of St. Matthew Baptist Church will be the guest speaker at Men and Women's Day hosted by Pine Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church. The gathering will be Sunday, May 3, at 2:30 in the afternoon. All are invited to attend.
Washington Baptist schedules homecoming
Homecoming at Washington Baptist Church in Deer Head will be Sunday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Edward Howard, interim pastor, will bring the message. Dinner will be served following the service. All are welcome to attend.
Cantuchee Baptist announces decoration/homecoming day
Cantuchee Baptist Church will host their decoration/ homecoming day on Sunday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Bring flowers for the family graves. The yearly cemetery funds will be taken at that time.
There will be an old-fashion dinner on the ground. Those attending should bring a covered dish, cold drinks, etc. and lawn chairs. Dress casually and cool to enjoy the day.
Watch for a small white block building on the right towards Coffeeville from Jackson on Highway 69. It is five miles north of Salitpa.
Bassett Creek celebrates 199th anniversary, homecoming
Bassett Creek Baptist Church will celebrate their 199
th
anniversary at homecoming service Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. The day will include fellowship, special music and a sermon by pastor Chris Kynard.
Special music Sunday morning and afternoon will be provided by the Hymnsmen Quartet of Cleveland, Tenn. They are a southern gospel group with a live band that will perform time-honored favorites as well as some new southern gospel songs. Dinner on the grounds will precede the afternoon singing.
All are encouraged to join the membership of Bassett Creek Baptist Church for this day of fellowship and singing. The church is located off Highway 43 2-1/2 miles north of Grove Hill. For more information call the church at (251) 275 - 8024.
Women's Day scheduled at St. Peter Baptist
Women's Day will be celebrated Sunday, May 3, at the St. Peter Baptist Church in the Allen community on Simmons Creek Road. Sister Geraldine Davis, Lady-elect, will be the 11:30 a.m. worship service speaker and Elder Vera Page, pastor of the In Time Harvesting Christian Ministry in Monroeville, will be the 2 p.m. guest speaker.
Pastor Matthew Davis and the St. Peter Baptist church family invite all to attend. All women are asked to wear white.
Little Sunflower Missionary will celebrate Choir Day
On Sunday, May 3, 3 p.m., Little Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their annual Choir Day with guest speaker the Rev. Roderick Scott of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church in Syrene. The Rev. Dave Adams Jr., pastor, invites all to participate.
Rev. Pearson will be guest speaker at Goodwill Missionary
The Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church will host their annual Youth and Young Adult Day program and youth revival services Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. The guest speaker and special guests will be the Rev. Tim Pearson along with the congregation and choir of the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Melvin.
Youth revival services will be Monday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 6 at 7 nightly. The speaker will be the Rev. Robert L. Jackson, pastor of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church.
Midway UMC announces homecoming
Midway United Methodist Church will host its homecoming on Sunday, May 3. Singing will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Old Journeymen Quartet. Worship will start at 11:15. The Rev. Bill Messer and Marty Schill are pastors.
Mother's Day sale at Caring Hearts Center
There will be a Mother's Day sale at the Caring Hearts Center May 4-8. All clothes are buy one get one free of equal or less value. There will be a one half price sale on everything else in the store priced $1 and above.
New mothers or mothers-to-be may take part in a free drawing for assorted items Thursday, May 7. Register at the center through May 6.
Store hours are 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. weekly with extend hours on Thursdays until 6.
