Tommy Roy Grimes, 88, a resident of Bigbee, died March 14, 2009 in a Mobile hospital. A veteran of World War II, he was retired from Ciba Giegy and a member of the St. Stephens Baptist Church.

His wife, Marie Grimes, and son, Michael Grimes, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter-in-law and guardian, Clynda W. Grimes of Chunchula; sister, Mary Pritchard of Bigbee; three grandchildren, Emily Marie Grimes of Chunchula, Caleb Deas of Bigbee and Nicole Vickers of Alexandria, Va.; one great-grandchild, Alex Vickers of Alexandria; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were March 17 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home with interment in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bigbee.
