Mr. Higginbotham and Miss Hamm Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hamm of Cullman announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, to John Caleb Higginbotham. Mr. Higginbotham is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Higginbotham of Jackson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Hamm of Elba and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Hughes.

A graduate of Cullman High School, she graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University (AU) with a bachelor of science in finance. She was a participant in the Student Government Association, the College of Business, the Auburn University Dance Line and the Student Council. Miss Hamm is employed at Daxko in Birmingham.

Mr. Higginbotham is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Hutcheson of Jackson, Lorraine Higginbotham of Euharlee, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. William J. Higginbotham Jr. of Jackson. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey L. McClinton.

He was a Jackson High School graduate and received a bachelor of science at AU in building science, graduating summa cum laude. He was a member of the AU water polo team. The prospective groom is employed by Brasfield & Gorrie in Birmingham.

The wedding will be an event of Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 5 in the afternoon, Cullman First United Methodist Church.
